We Are Timothy!
Who was Timothy in the New Testament Bible?
Timotheos, meaning “honoring God” or “honoring by God”. He was an early Christian Evangelist and the first-century Christian Bishop of Ephesus. Timothy was from the Lycaonian city of Lystra in Asia Minor, born of a Jewish mother who had become a Christian believer, and a Greek father.
Apostle Paul met him during his second missionary journey, and he became Paul’s companion and co-worker. Timothy became Paul’s disciple, and later his constant companion and co-worker in preaching. Paul established/set Timothy in Ephesus to oversee the work there. Paul wrote to Timothy to combat the false teachings that had arisen there.
Timothy’s name appears as the co-author on 2 Corinthians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, and Philemon. Paul wrote to the Philippians about Timothy, “I have no one like him” (Philippians 2:19-23).
Team Timothy serves in our Date Street/Del Rosa community on Sundays after morning services. We get good exercise by walking the streets of the community and praying with and for our neighbors. We share scriptural literature handouts and biblical/spiritual truths with every soul we meet. We pass out bag lunches. Team Timothy is also ministering and volunteering our time, gifts, and talents with the Winsome Wednesday church services. We serve hot meals to our community who come out to hear the Word of God and then get bag groceries.

We meet quarterly in a Team Member’s home to fellowship and develop strategies to improve our sharing the savior skills in the community. We eat very well too! We are always seeking God to equip us to serve our families, friends and communities. In order to be able to serve well we go to the Word of God for our marching orders.
